Welcome to Green Ramp Productions first official blog post! First up, a little concept I've been working on for the past several years.
Being the pedantic snob that I am (I'm working on that in therapy), I've always wanted to create a scale to measure how far out of whack sci fi movies and series can be. What I find particularly annoying is how short sighted most sci fi flicks tend to be, how little time they allow for the things that they portray to actually happen by the time or setting of the show. For example, Blade Runner- one of the greatest sci fis ever made. But seriously, 37 years they gave to go from date of release (1982) to date of movie (2019). Off world colonies, replicants, that wild LA skyline, etc. And here we are in 2026 and we're just now fiddling with the idea of returning to the moon. Way out of whack.
Ok, they came close with the flying cars, but still...
Thus, was born Speculative Timeline Compression (STC) and the Temporal Over Projection (TOP) Score. Now, fair warning, I did use AI to help me with this, but just for polish to help me develop the mathematical formula. I'm terrible at math (because 2 + 2 = what, 6? 25?). As a history major, my expertise has always leaned toward the social sciences, English, etc. Regardless, all the scoring, matrices, factors, are mine.
So, I am putting the finishing touches on the paper now and will publish it in the next couple of days. Then, we'll have some fun scoring some shows.
